KS1: using their voice expressively
KS2: play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts
KS3: play and perform confidently in a range of solo and ensemble contexts
Join me for a shanty singing session, using versions of songs from Nelson’s time and more recently. I will introduce the songs with games and actions before leading the songs for the group. Students join in with choruses and repeat lines, building confidence in singing in a group as well as learning traditional British songs.
For older groups they can lead individual verses passing more of the creative ownership to the group but still focussing on instilling confidence and enjoyment in singing together.
