In the Royal Marines alone there are 32,000 different stories from D Day. Not all of them have ever been told. This session is a chance to put that right.

I will come into the class in the role of a Second World War Royal Marines Commando and introduce my story. I will introduce the class to the stories of a few of my comrades who took part in d Day. The class will then work in groups to create their own D Day commando stories using the knowledge they have gained early in the session as a foundation. They will work collaboratively to create a fictional group of commandos who they will then take into the heat of D Day and work together to tell their story.

The storytelling game supports their creativity and works to boost their confidence in creating as a group as well and building their composition skills. This session is particularly effective for groups and individuals who find composition and group creativity challenging.
